Antioxidants are molecules that neutralise free radicals. A healthy body has a balance of antioxidants and free radicals. The body produces its own antioxidants, but it’s essential that we consume antioxidants on a regular basis. Plants provide a great variety of antioxidants. This plants listed here are specifically high in antioxidants.
Free radicals perform essential roles in your body, such as fighting infection. However, if free radicals outnumber antioxidants for prolonged periods of time, cells and DNA can be damaged, leading to multiple illnesses. Factors that are known to increase free radicals include air pollution, alcohol, tobacco smoke, radiation, toxins, and high blood sugar level.
