We have just had some great news from The Woodland Trust. It has been confirmed that Food Communities will receive 420 edible trees in November!

The native trees are hazel, blackthorn, crab apple, dog rose, elder, and rowan to be planted in our community gardens.

So in a few years we can be sharing sloe gin, crab apple and rowan berry jelly, elderflower wine and hazelnut coffee!!

These trees are planned for our gardens in Stobo and Waterheads where there is more space to plant them than in our Peebles garden.

It would be fantastic if some of you will be on hand to help with the planting in November. Please GET IN TOUCH if you would like to help out. Many thanks!
